SnapTite Dentures

When it comes to dentures, many of our patients are concerned about them becoming loose while eating or talking, and worry about their self-confidence. With SnapTite dentures, all of these worries disappear and our patients feel much better about their choice, since they are secured in the mouth with implants. With these types of dentures, patients have a long-term and more permanent solution. Many of our patients received their SnapTite dentures several years ago and still are in very good shape today.

One of the many benefits of SnapTite dentures is that they are easy to care for and maintain over a long period of time. They are reinforced through implants in the jaw, so that they easily snap in and out of the mouth, as opposed to sitting loose over the gums. For patients with a smaller amount of jawbone to work with, Dr. Michael Corsello also provides mini SnapTite dentures. These use mini implants, which uses titanium posts that are about half the size of our traditional ones.

If you need dentures but are looking for a long-lasting and more secure solution, call Northland Dental Medicine at 412-367-7400.

Here at Northland Dental Medicine, our patients take very good care of their teeth, but they can still become stained or discolored. Drinking coffee, wine, or soft drinks, smoking, and eating various types of food stain the teeth over time. We offer KoR teeth whitening in our office, which is a highly effective way to brighten the smile by whitening the teeth around 6-10 shades whiter. KoR is a bleaching system that utilizes whitening trays prepared in our office, but that the patient uses at home over several days.

Here are some things to know about the KoR teeth whitening system:

•    The result is completely natural looking.
•    Patients ages 14-90 qualify for this whitening product.
•    The trays are custom-made for the patient for effective whitening.
•    There is very little to no sensitivity after using it.
•    Many patients find it to be permanent and last a lifetime.

When our patients choose KoR teeth whitening, we take impressions of their teeth to prepare the trays, then give them the trays and bleaching gel to use at home. Over several days, the trays are used daily, until they reach the preferred level of whiteness.

To find out more about this whitening system, call Dr. Michael Corsello at 412-367-7400 or book your KoR teeth whitening appointment online now.

Dental Implant Medicine

Here at Northland Dental Medicine, we provide many specialties for our patients, including dental implant medicine. This is a special area of dentistry that utilizes implant technology for replacing missing teeth. We provide dental implants to patients missing one or multiple teeth, as well as implant-supported dentures for more stability in their dentures.

There are many reasons to offer dental implants, aside from the aesthetic value. Some other benefits of dental implant medicine include:

  • ·         Improving the patient’s oral health and quality of life.

  • ·         Providing more confidence in the smile.

  • ·         Preventing the teeth from shifting and causing alignment issues.

  • ·         Reducing bone atrophy.

  • ·         Improving the patient’s chewing abilities.

  • ·         Allowing the patient’s bite to remain intact.

With dental implant medicine, we start by assessing the patient’s jawbone to ensure it is sufficient to support the implant. After the metal post is implanted into the bone, it takes 3-6 months to heal, where the bone grows around the implant. At this point, we prepare a crown to match their adjacent teeth, and place it on the top of the implant. They now have a tooth that looks, feels and functions just like a natural tooth.

Be sure to ask Dr. Michael Corsello about dental implant medicine by contacting our Pittsburgh, PA office.

Cosmetic Implants

Having a tooth pulled is often a necessity, whether due to being impacted, infected, or because part of the tooth structure has broken off. No matter the reason, patients here at Northland Dental Medicine appreciate being able to replace the missing tooth with a dental implant.

Cosmetic implants improve and restore the patient’s smile by replacing the tooth and having a more permanent solution than the alternatives. Implants are made to look and function just like natural teeth, making them the next best thing to their permanent tooth.

By receiving cosmetic implants, patients benefit in the following ways:

1. The dental implant is permanent, as the jawbone grows around the metal post.

2. The dental implants work, look, and feel like natural teeth.

3. The patient’s speech and eating is improved through a more secure tooth replacement option.

4. The patient's dental implant becomes comfortable and barely noticeable, as opposed to other alternatives.

5. Patients feel more confident with cosmetic implants, improving their own self esteem.

With cosmetic implants, patients don’t need to worry about the implant wearing away later on, as the jawbone heals around the implant, holding it into place. A crown is placed on the top that matches their adjacent teeth. If these benefits of cosmetic implants sound good to you, visit Dr. Michael Corsello’s Pittsburgh, PA office.
